Vida is growing and expanding its workforce

Vida is Sweden’s largest sawmill group with 12 sawmills in Götaland, southern Sweden. The second largest of these sawmills is located in Borgstena in Borås municipality. Vida has great ambitions for the future and has therefore invested SEK 140 million in Borgstena over the last few years.

“Vida’s ambition has always been to grow, it’s part of our DNA. In recent years the economic situation has been good for the forestry industry, which has enabled us to increase the pace of our investments. We have now completed a major investment program in Borgstena, which will bring about a 40% increase in production from 300,000 m³ to 420,000 m³ per year. This means the company needs to recruit around 20 new employees by autumn”, says Magnus Bodare, CEO Vida Borgstena.

Vida Borgstena will expand production by a further shift in December, which means that company will recruit at least 20 new employees. The positions that will need to be filled are mechanics, sawmill operators and vehicle drivers.

“There is long-term robust demand for our wood products from our customers around the world, and to satisfy our customers’ needs we need to grow together with them. We have always prioritised our customers and been very market focused, which we believe has been one of our key success factors”, concludes Magnus Bodare.
